Introduction

Spiral separator is one mining machine used for ore dressing production, which precipitated in the liquid at different speeds by means of the proportion of solid particles and which is a device of the mechanical grading. The screw classifier can grind the material into the powder level in the filter, and then the coarse material can be discharged from the overflow tube. The spiral classifier is also referred as grader. The screw classifiers mainly four types such as high weir single spiral classifier, double spiral, sunken single spiral and double helix classifier.

The spiral separator, also named screw classifier, spiral classifier or spiral concentrator, belongs to one type of ore beneficiation machine which realizes the mechanical classification according to the different proportions and precipitating speeds of the solid materials. It can filter the material powder made by the grinding machine, then send the rough materials into the feed port of the grinding machine via the screw panel and discharge the filtered fine materials from the overflow pipe. The spiral separator is also called classifier which can be divided into high weir single spiral classifier and double spiral one, submerged single and double spiral classifier.

The spiral separator is widely used by the dressing plant to distribute the sand together with the ball mill as a closed cycle, to classify sand and fine silt in the gravity mill, to grade size of the ore pulp in the metal dressing process, and to realize desliming and dehydration processes. It features simple structure and reliable and easy operation.
